What makes Firefox Domains different

Honest pricing, real privacy, no upsells. Every time.

One price, every year

Everything you need, included

Privacy, SSL, and security come with every domain. Nothing's pre-checked, nothing's upsold.

Private by default

Your contact details stay out of public records, automatically and free. What you search stays yours, too.

Built for you, not shareholders

Firefox is independent and answers to people. Your domain is yours, and easy to move whenever you want.

Find the right name. Get it the easy way.

How to find a name that fits, and the simple, no-surprises way to get it.

Picking a name that fits

  1. Keep it short and memorable

Names that are easy to remember and type are easy to share.

  2. Match the ending to you

.com fits anything. .org, .design, and others can hint at what you do.

  3. Make it personal, not generic

A name tied to you or your work beats a string of keywords.

  4. Have a backup or two

If your name's taken, try a backup or a different ending.

Getting your domain

  1. Search your name

Type a name and find out what's available.

  2. Pick your ending

Choose .com, .org, .design, or whatever fits you.

  3. Choose your term

One year or several. The price per year stays the same.

  4. Make it yours

Check out securely, and your domain's ready to use.

Protected by default. Nothing to buy.

Privacy, security, and the protections that keep your domain yours come free with every name. The things other registrars sell back to you, we include.

Privacy

Your details stay private, never in public records

Your contact details stay out of public records, free and on by default. We add privacy everywhere your domain allows it, so there's nothing to switch on or pay for.

Security

Your site stays safe for everyone who visits

Your site is secured so people can visit it safely and trust the connection between them and you. It's protected from the moment you register, free and on by default.

Control

Your domain stays yours, hard to lose or take

Domain lock keeps your name from being transferred without your say-so, and we remind you well before it's due to renew. No surprise expirations, no quiet handoffs.

Domain questions, answered

New to domains? Here are plain answers to what people ask most before getting one.

Your domain is your address on the web. When someone types yourname.com into a browser, or emails you at hello@yourname.com, the domain is the part that points them to you. Behind the scenes, every site lives at a string of numbers called an IP address. A domain is the human-friendly name that stands in for those numbers, so people can find you without memorizing anything.

A domain has two parts: the name you choose (yourname) and the ending that follows the dot (.com, .org, and so on). When you register one, it's yours to use for as long as you keep it renewed. You're not buying it outright forever, you're holding the rights to it, year to year.
